Estimating Electrical Engineer Job In White Plains New York

The New York Power Authority (NYPA), America’s largest state-owned, public power enterprise, has an exciting opportunity for an Estimating Electrical Engineer to work in its White Plains, N.Y. office. In this position, you will be responsible for developing electrical project cost estimates to establish project budgets for NYPA's power plants and transmission facilities.  

Responsibilities include developing detailed and conceptual electrical estimates for Capital Construction and Plant O & M projects; preparing equipment/material quantity take-off from design drawings and engineering specifications; reviewing estimates prepared by Architectural Engineering Consultants; preparing fair cost estimates; developing and maintaining estimating standards; evaluating construction change orders; and preparing engineering evaluation estimates

A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is preferred, along with 7+ years of technical experience in project estimating, construction and/or design. Substation and transmission work experience is desirable. Previous work experience can be substituted for the engineering degree requirement. Excellent leadership, planning, collaboration, decision making, verbal and written communication skills are required.
