The incumbent will provide day-to-day supervision of the regional storekeepers and procurement specialists, plant warehousing, storage, maintenance, issuing and accounting (cycle counting, etc.) of material in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Corporate Supply Chain Management procedures. This position is also responsible for maintaining spares for other Progress Energy sites. Additionally, this position provides supervisory oversight for the Field Buyers, and procurement functions related to routine and outage plant maintenance activities. Incumbent is accountable for implementation of Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and actively participates in peer groups. Incumbent is responsible to ensure materials, supplies and tools are available for plant work per prescribed staging requirements. Primary customers are plant supervision, however, is accountable for vendor relationships, overseeing vendor managed inventory. Also responsible for ensuring that all hazardous chemicals and materials are handled within appropriate corporate procedures and OSHA compliance. Some minimal travel to other sites may be required. | | | | | | | | | Qualifications | | | Four-year baccalaureate degree in related field plus six years directly related/supervisory experience, or two-year associate degree plus nine years directly related/supervisory experience, or high school diploma or equivalent plus 12 years directly related/supervisory experience required. Six years experience in warehouse, materials management, procurement and or supply chain related functions required.
