Job Description
Responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of Radwaste activities and assigning, supervising and coordinating the work of Rad Waste Operators. Develop, implement work schedules, make technical assignments and administer the collective bargaining agreement. Monitor, manage and trend Radwaste system performance. Evaluate Radwaste systems to ensure optimum performance and make recommendations to Operations based on data analysis in order to control waste generation at the source. Process Radwaste using the most efficient and effective technology and providing program improvements while complying with licensing and station requirements. Provide technical support, assistance and guidance to plant Operations/Chemistry issues/programs. Manage Radwaste Vendor processing and disposal Contracts. Manage the Radwaste Budget. Ensure work activities meet and exceed the requirements and standards established in 10CFR20, related Regulatory Guides, and INPO Good Practices Guidelines. Manage the industrial relations of the Radwaste group, including performance management.
REQUIRED: BS degree in Physical Science or a minimum of 10 years related experience in the field of Radioactive Waste processing, Disposal and Shipping. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Meet the intent of 49 CFR 172 Subpart H. Boiling Water Reactor experience preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Must meet Nuclear?s requirements for Unescorted Plant Access. DESIRED: Previous supervisory experience. Experience in directing/supervising bargaining unit personnel. Working knowledge of computers and computer systems.
