Overview: Review new work entering the system. Develops plans for on-line work. Manages a backlog of corrective work for the assigned discipline. Transforms the complexity of competing work priorities into manageable tasks by clear articulation of work scope, established objectives, productivity metrics and work organization.
Responsibilities: Manages backlog using internal and external resources to maintain the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and asset material condition Ensures preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, reliability-centered maintenance, predictive maintenance, surveillance, and planned maintenance cause predictable reliability and prevent unplanned, unanticipated, and untoward incidents. Identifies plant priorities for procurement and pre-staging of daily, on-shift, planned, and emergency materials and services requirements.Ensures Job Safety is embedded in every job planMake field inspections and determine appropriate job work scopesCreate, use, and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays.Evaluate job feedback to improve future work.Develops job plan libraryGenerates Key Performance Indicator Reports Works with Supply Chain Management to monitor inventory levels, ensure reduction of slow moving inventory, add inventory for critical equipment or reliability imperatives, and achieve annual inventory goals.Provides technical information for specifications and development of alternate suppliers by maintaining a library of equipment manuals, parts lists, drawings, and reference materials. Work with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to identify the root cause of system problems and plan for repair of this root cause.Drives reliability improvement by application of lessons learned, key results indicators, post repair reviews, best maintenance practices, and technology implementationMaintains equipment hierarchies and parts lists within the CMMS
Qualifications: - Strong technical knowledge of: power plant equipment,
MAXIMO, project management, project controls, activity - based budgets, productivity metrics, Job Safety and Hazard Analyses, reliability process tools, and work-planning. - Appreciates and implements disciplined rigor into planning, quality requirements, and performance management of internal and external work resources.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the maintenance of a modern power station
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions in swiftly developing job plans.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations involved in estimating and purchasing.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers, and superiors.
- Ability to utilize common office equipment such as copier, fax machine, telephone, and personal computer.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.
- Ability to write technical specifications, research parts information, interprets and applies engineering drawings, develop procedures, and design process flow charts.
- Customer orientation, communicate effectively vertically and horizontally within the organization.
- Ability to maneuver continuously throughout plant to observe equipment.
- Ability to walk, sit, stoop, squat, climb ladders and stairs, and lift and carry objects up to fifty pounds in weight.
- Ability to perform simple grasping and fine finger manipulation of small objects.
Ability to work comfortably in confined spaces or exposed heights up to 250 feet with adequate protection. Pro-active, self-managed, and ability to handle time -pressure based priorities which change frequently. Demonstrated experience with MAXIMO Mechanical, Instrument or Electrical certifications or demonstrated performance for the discipline applied for Journeyman level or higher experience in designated craft. - Preferred:
- Root cause analyses skills and demonstrated ability to prevent repeat failures either caused by equipment and/or process design.
PERT activity planning experience - Experience with computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases
- Demonstrated experience leading, training and/or directing work teams
- Ability to prepare, present, and gain approval for project commitments
- Ability to thrive and deliver results in an environment of multiple projects, with similar priorities - competing for the same resources.
- Maintenance and Reliability Certifications
- Demonstrated experience with MS PROJECT, PRIMAVERA, SAP, or other project management tools
