Senior Project Manager - Aluminum Specific Responsibilities This position is for a Project Manager for the Aluminum Group. The successful candidate will manage major turnkey electrical projects for the Aluminum Industry as well as developing and maintaining partnership relations with our clients and suppliers. The main responsibilities of the Project Manager include: • Participate in Project Sales / Analyze customers’ specifications •Review/approve ABB proposals, terms and conditions, cost calculations and schedules •Serve as prime interface with customers and project participants, on all contractual matters •Build relationship with, and influence, customers at all levels •Ensure Customer satisfaction and responsiveness to customers •Plan projects / Establish schedules / Modify when required/ Monitor progress •Assess/Manage project Risk and Opportunities •Coordinate activities/arrange staffing/assign responsibilities •Manage/lead project team to ensure project success and team spirit •Ensure efforts are aligned with customer/company requirements •Review status reports, monitor/analyze/report contract performance •Ensure timely delivery of information and materials, product quality and field services •Pursue project opportunities for additional sales •Manage/Review change requests, prepare quotes/implement changes, with support form technical and other staff as required •Conduct meetings efficiently •Approve purchase orders, and invoices •Resolve disputes over back charges, delays, warranties, etc. •Review/coordinate information flow internally, to/from vendors and to/from customers •Report opportunities and problems to management •Decide on/implement actions to fully explore all possibilities and to eliminate/minimize problems •Ensure contract completion and desired financial return •Control contract documents Specific Qualifications Business minded 10 years experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Strong leadership/interpersonal skills , positive attitude and common sense Ability to manage/work with virtual (cross border/culture) teams and conflict resolution Good understanding of Customer needs / Good Customer relations Strong ability to influence people, building trust and credibility and negotiation skills Presentation and communication skills both in English and French. Display integrity, an open attitude, time management, computer literate, decisive and problem solving skills. Understanding project finances & contracts Experience managing large turnkey projects. Experience in the aluminum Industry would be a asset Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and ABB Health and Safety regulations an asset.
