Job Description

ABB has a rich heritage of developing and delivering space optical technologies that will strategically position the company to potentially support several new European remote sensing space programs.

ABB Switzerland announced recently the start of operations at its newly established unit for the remote sensing industry in Switzerland. The new entity’s offices are located in the existing facilities of ABB's Corporate Research Center in Baden-Daettwil. At this location, ABB will develop optical instrumentation for the European space remote sensing market. ABB Remote Sensing Switzerland will provide technology and expertise for European space programs for the monitoring of greenhouse gasses.

In order to achieve our goal of providing cutting-edge technology, we are looking for a motivated and team-oriented Product Assurance Manager (m/f).

Your tasks: ensure an adequate, effective and efficient implementation of product assurance activities • qualify suppliers in collaboration with engineering and procurement • assume responsibility for product reliability, cooperating closely with designers and engineers • identify, assess, prevent and manage technical risks • select EEE parts, processes and materials • manage complete product and process verification/validation cycles • supervise quality during manufacturing and testing phases • take charge of contamination plan and ESD plan implementation • ensure that all project non-conformances are brought to an appropriate resolution • participate in non-conformance and technical reviews • investigate root causes of non-conformances • conduct and lead internal and external audits • manage configuration and documentation • participate to technical reviews and influence design • root cause investigation of non-conformances

The requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (FH/HS) in physics, electronics, mechanics or similar • Minimum 10 years experience in the high technology industry • extensive experience as a product assurance manager in aerospace environment •knowledge in ECSS • quality management experience • fluency in English • pronounced capabilities in decision making and pressure management • leadership skills • strong communication skills • customer oriented • availability for international travel • proactive, result-oriented and flexible team player
