ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR I Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering or scientific discipline in a global business unit on a project or program. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering. Makes decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work. Responsible for a portion of the activities on a major or medium size project, or a relatively small size project in an engineering or scientific discipline. Supervises and provides technical direction to engineers, scientists, technicians, designers and drafters. Regularly informs the senior Engineering Supervisor, Chief Engineer, or Project Engineer of technical activities, staffing, budgets and schedules. Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendations. Requires knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to the particular discipline. Requires a basic knowledge of Bechtel? administrative practices. This position is for a Control Systems design for the repowering of Turkey Point Nuclear Plant Units 3 and 4. The work required includes preparing and reviewing Design Change Packages for various equipment including design drawings, calculations, vendor documents, revising plant documentation, setpoint calculations, instrumentation specification, logic design, P&ID design, digital upgrades of existing plant equipment, DCS I/O layout, tubing and instrument installation design requirements, radiation detection, security systems, control room layout/human factors, safety system design, etc. The DCPs will be implemented over eight replacement outages. Coordinate the work with clients operation, maintenance and system engineering groups and Bechtel home office as necessary. Supervisory candidates must have enough experience in these activities to manage the assigned group in addition to familiarty with nuclear regulations and procedures. Expected project duration is 2 to 4 years. Living Away From Home Allowance is available for qualified individuals. Work location at the Turkey Point Plant. Responsibilities include planning, reporting to management, budgeting and managing Control Systems activities. Positions will include extensive customer/owner interaction and support. Leadership experience in both the plant operating services engineering support environment and home office engineering will be considered. Candidate must have proven track record of Control Systems engineering leadership including planning work and executing on a budget. Basic Requirements: Candidates responding to this posting must currently possess the eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. Candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain unescorted clearance to a nuclear power plant. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate must have 8 years experience in Control Systems Power Plant Design. Preferred Requirements: A BS degree in Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineer field. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with current professional engineering license. Nuclear Power Engineering experience. | |
