Corporate Controller ST-LAURENT 2010-01-04 Position The Corporate Controller, reporting to the Country CFO, provides vision-driven, team focused leadership to the Country Planning and controlling team, provides Controllership function for the corporate functions. As a people strategist, enables a team of indirect reports. As a business strategist, proposes and implements improvements in the areas of reporting, governance, control and process. Responsibilities Country GAAP responsible, supporting consistent financial management and planning within the country, across the business units regarding accounting and reporting. Coordinates and produces internal reporting and analysis for Country Management including consolidating and producing balance sheet analysis and analytical review for quarterly WOMBAT Provides support to the Country CFO regarding special reporting requirements Corporate governance, compliance, assurance, SOX Overseas and reviews reporting in line with local GAAP, coordinates communication with external auditors Supports communication with internal auditors and group monitoring tool Information and communication to management team, and external / internal contacts on financial performance and actions Follow-up and controlling of non-core activities in the country Work with external auditors Work with internal finance group, international and/or NAM levels. Qualifications BAC required Professional accounting designation required Fifteen years financial, management accounting or controller experience, the last three in a senior finance role Service oriented communication and team skills, both verbal and written Ability to analyze complex problems, gather relevant data from various sources, identify problems, assess alternatives working cooperatively with others in a leadership role to achieve team or organizational tasks and/or goals Ability to lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team potentially consisting of subordinate supervisors, functional peer group Proven ability to set the tone for a strong governance and control environment ABB is an Employment Equity Employer and values a diverse workforce.
