JOB SUMMARY: Develop, coordinate, and present chemistry/radiochemistry training for site chemistry and environmental personnel, operations personnel, shift technical advisors, Engineering Support personnel, and others to ensure they possess the chemistry/radiochemistry knowledge and skills required to perform their job functions. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1.Analyze technical material and change actions (operating experience, modifications, procedure changes, etc.), and prepare/update content evaluations, task lists/matrices to provide technically adequate and effective training materials for the Chemistry Training Program by the Training System Development (TSD) process to provide training sufficient for site personnel to perform their job functions, and to satisfy programmatic requirements. 2.Conduct training in a manner to ensure plant goals, objectives, and standards are met; assigned training facilities and training aids promote a professional learning environment, and training is delivered in a cost-effective, consistent and professional manner. 3.Counsel trainees with respect to performance, recommend appropriate remedial actions, maintain examination integrity, and apply high performance standards during training and performance evaluations to certify only those personnel who have demonstrated the ability to safely and efficiently perform their chemistry-related job functions. 4.Prepare required training records, review for accuracy and completeness, and forward for retention per procedures to attest to adequate training of personnel to perform their job functions. 5.Monitor and assess training and job performance activities to factor improvements into training, to have training requirements addressed in site procedures, and provide performance data to maintain the programs; and to provide feedback to site management regarding needed modifications or procedure changes. 6.Maintain instructor certification and discipline-specific qualification requirements to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, and participate in developmental opportunities to continually improve job performance and skills. 7.Represent Site Training on the Chemistry Curriculum Review Committee to evaluate and disposition training issues with site Chemistry management. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY FACTORS: (Education, Experience, Certification/License) Associate in engineering (e.g., chemical, nuclear) or science (e.g, chemistry, physics, biology) and completion of an accredited Chemistry Training Program, or completion of accredited Chemistry Training Program and two years additional experience, or high school diploma and four years additional experience. In addition, four to six years experience in chemistry and/or radiochemistry including two years nuclear plant chemistry/radiochemistry experience, and one to two years chemistry training experience (concurrent or consecutive). Computer skills desirable. Maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted access. | |
