Job Description
ABB is a leader in power and automation technologies that operates in more than 100 countries and employs about 120,000 people.

Project Fix is a Global cross functional (Accounting & Treasury) project managed from within GF-IS. It is designed to improve the accounting for hedging of foreign currency risks and embedded derivatives within ABB. The project also involves optimizing the underlying hedges. The project involves developing and rolling out new tools, training materials and setting up a centre of expertise globally and by country. The Center of Expertise will continue beyond the project phase and provide ongoing support and advice on hedging and hedge accounting. Whilst this role supports technical accounting matters the incumbent will work in a cross functional team with other specialists and the ability to learn is considered even more important than pre-existing technical knowledge.

Your tasks: Ensure that appropriate tools are supported within ABB • prepare and provide adequate training material. • Ensure that processes are followed and deliver reduced volatility to ABB. • Where new challenges emerge (from within ABB or externally) ensure that appropriate technical advice is available in a form that is easily understood by non-specialists.


The requirements: Degree in finance • minimum three years professional level experience in ABB (or similar) preparing ABACUS type pack from local books of accounts • experience in working across functions • the ability to learn, implement and explain technical US GAAP accounting instructions • able to explain the essence of technical issues in a very simple way • fluent in English.
