RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as human resources consultant for assigned customer base. Understands customer's business and consults in progressive programs and initiatives including work force planning and staffing, leadership continuity, succession planning, performance management, compensation, employee recognition, learning and development, and labor relations; which enhance the work force strategies and improve efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness. Under the direction of the manager and/or consultation with the manager or Senior Human Resource Consultants, partners with management team to link and incorporate HR programs into organization's business plans. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Serves as a the Human Resources business partner for TVA leadership teams to provide consulting and service delivery regarding a broad spectrum of human resources matters. 2. Consults with customers, solution builders and service providers in a way to ensure HR solutions are focused on TVA's business outcomes and in keeping with HR's strategic direction and Integrated Service Delivery Model. 3. Understands customers' performance plans and operations, including short-term and long-term issues and needs. 4. Proactively evaluates, anticipates, and identifies HR needs/issues. 5. Coordinates service delivery through supervisors with HR solution builders and providers to deliver strategies and initiatives which progressively enhance the business outcomes and support improvement and efficiency, innovation and competitiveness for the company. 6. Ensures programs and activities are properly coordinated, internally and externally, and that they are sufficiently integrated with related TVA and federal programs to efficiently and cost-effectively accomplish customer requirements and organizational objectives. 7. Keeps grounded in latest HR trends. 8. Works to ensure process standardization and consistent application of HR program delivery services. Helps create an environment where coaching, teamwork, cooperation, diversity and creativity can flourish. ELIGIBILITY FACTORS: A Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, or related field of study. Three or more years of human resources experience including demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job. Experience with consulting, planning/project management, problem solving; and organizational effectiveness. PHR certification is desirable. Knowledge of HR management disciplines including work force planning and staffing, leadership continuity, succession planning, performance management, compensation, employee recognition, learning and development, and labor relations. Understands competitive challenges and is able to identify key human resources strategies to complement organizational strategy. Appreciation for and understanding of TVA's labor agreements and strategies. Knows business strategy. Is future focused.
