Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising program engineering personnel responsible for performing engineering activities to support the plant. Supervision includes work management, technical mentoring, technical review of work products, oversight of engineering program development, implementation, and health monitoring, pre-job briefs for work assignments, performance plan development and review, and coaching associated with engineer performance.

Essential Responsibilities:

Percent of Time

a)

Provide technical and personnel leadership and coaching to the engineering staff. This includes mentoring of new personnel and existing personnel to new technologies. Establishing and enforcing quality expectations for engineering products such as calculations, operablity reviews, safety reviews, work planning, design activities, specification development, and corrective action program related activities.

60%

b)

Develop schedules, utilize work management tools, make assignments for engineering related activities to support site and fleet goals.

20%

c)

Represent the engineering department in plant meetings and industry/fleet activities.

20%

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering required. 8 years of nuclear experience preferred. Must have significant experience with evaluating and solving engineering issues; professional engineering certification is preferred; management training or education preferred.
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
