Apprentice Electrician 1st Year Job In Amarillo Texas

Position Summary:

To construct and maintain electricial substations for Xcel Energy.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must have High School diploma or GED.
2. Class "A" CDL with HazMat endorsements, tanker, doubles triples.
3. Must be totally committed to safety, quality of work, and customer service.
4. Must be willing to respond to after hour and weekend call outs.
5. Must be willing to travel extensively for extended periods of time.
6. Apprentices will be required to attend 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year apprentice schools.
7. Must be mentally competent, able to communicate, and able to comprehend instructions and build on previous experiance.
8. Must exhibit a team work attitude and be able to work with others.
9. Must be of adequate physical stature to:
A. Lift and maneuver up to 90 lbs.
B. Climb structures up to 100' tall.
C. Perform aerial work in a safety belt in a safe and efficient manner.
D. Use shovels, sledge hammers, 90 lb. jackhammers, and an assortment of hand tools.
E. Work in confined spaces.
10. Must pass the federal D.O.T. physical examination.
11. Must pass the Edison Electric Institute's Construction and Skilled Trades Test.

Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
