Job Description

Special Instructions:

This position is in the mechanical and civil operational engineering group. The position is covered under the Engineering Section Collective Bargaining Agreement with I.B.E.W. Union Local 949. This is an engineering hierarchy. Placement within the hierarchy will be commensurate with the candidate's skills, education and experience.

The position will be primarily working on engineering analysis, evaluations and overseeing implementation modifications to the plant.

PE license/ FE test passed preferred.

Position Summary:

This position performs design-engineering activities. Primary responsibilities include the development of plant modifications, calculations, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, maintenance of design basis documents and resolution of Corrective Action Issues. Additional responsibilities include the review of existing / new design documents, support of continued plant operation, assessment of adverse conditions, engineering analyses, and project management skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

Percent of Time

a)

Development of plant modifications, calculations, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, maintenance of design basis documents, resolution of Corrective Action issues, support of continued plant operation, assessment of adverse conditions and project management.

70%

b)

Develop schedules, utilize work management tools, perform assignments for engineering related activities to support site and fleet goals. Miscellaneus activities as assigned.

20%

c)

Attend Department and plant meetings and industry/fleet activities. Attend Training.

10%

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering or other technical field required. 8 years of nuclear experience preferred. Minimum qualifications, which apply to all levels in the engineering hierarchy, require a four-year engineering degree from an American Board of Engineering Technology (ABET) accredited institution. The applicability of the degree shall be documented at time of hiring.
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
