Apprentices Based in Stafford, UK (GSS-APP10) With 71,000 employees in over 100 countries, AREVA offers customers reliable technological solutions for CO2-free generation and electricity transmission and distribution. AREVA's T&D division employs 23,000 people and is an active player around the globe. It designs, manufactures and supplies a complete range of equipment, systems and services for all stages in the transfer of electricity, from the generator to the large end-user. The UK Service Business of AREVA T&D Ltd provides comprehensive worldwide service support and works in partnership with major generation, transmission and distribution utilities plus large commercial and industrial end users to enable them to efficiently manage their electrical infrastructure. Employing 300 people it operates throughout the world with its main focus on providing local UK support. The Role Earning while you develop your skills, you'll spend up to four years on our Apprenticeship Training and Development Programme, beginning with full-time college study and progressing to intensive in-company training. We are currently recruiting Apprentices for our Service Business. Technician Apprentices work towards a career in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. Your programme should run as: Year 1 Full time college-based with weekly familiarisation days within the Company. Years 2 & 3 Dedicated in-company training to enable you to gain the skills and knowledge towards a career in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, developing the specialist skills required to work on site (both UK and overseas) or in one of two dedicated Service workshops at Stafford. 1 x College day per week Year 4 One year full-time sponsorship within the business gaining greater and more in depth knowledge of each departments role within the organisation. You could go on to be: A Service Technician - Working within one of two multi skilled workshop environments at Stafford or on UK customer high voltage electricity sub-stations (sometimes working away from home for several weeks) you will be trained in the servicing and refitting of Transmission and Distribution equipment. The position will require mechanical and limited electrical skills and adaptability to any of the workshop/site based disciplines. Full product training will be given. The Person You should hold or expect to gain four GCSEs or equivalent at Grades A-C (including English, Maths and a Science subject). You will be capable of using your initiative and following detailed instructions against strict deadlines. You will be a team player with a very flexible approach and willingness to learn and progress.
