Job Description

AEP’s Information Technology (IT) organization supports the company’s goal to be the nation’s premier provider of energy and related services. We recruit experienced college graduates for IT careers and provide numerous opportunities for career advancement within multiple IT job families and process groups.    We also offer many opportunities for training and development within our IT organization.

INTERNS

The IT intern program is a phased program.    The initial assignment occurs during the summer. Upon completion of the assignment, an evaluation session takes place to determine if there is a continued interest on the part of the student as well as IT.    If so, the student would progress into the second year of the program. The student would be offered a rotational assignment to further broaden their skills and background and gain exposure to multiple areas of IT.

Current IT intern opportunities may exist in the following areas in Columbus, OH:
• Software Development
• Technical Support
• Application Support
• Architectural Design
• Business Analysis
• Project Management
• Network Analysis

Minimum Requirements

Requirements:
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college/university, pursuing a Bachelor Degree
• Majors include: Computer and Information Science (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Science Engineering (CSE) or a major that aligns with the specific IT assignment
• Completed at least one (1) year in major
• Have taken at least one computing course
• For first assignment, must be able to work one full-time 12-week summer session; next full-time 12-week assignment to be determined
• 3.0 GPA preferred
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
