IT Field Intern Job In Various Ohio

IT Field Operations is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of the infrastructure and network equipment including desktop and laptop units.   

Current opportunities may exist in Columbus, Groveport or Southern OH; Glade Springs, VA; Fort Wayne, IN; Charleston, WV; Laredo, Pharr, Corpus Christi, Abilene or Texarkana, TX; Tulsa or Lawton, OK; and Shreveport, LA

INTERNS

The IT intern program is a phased program.    The initial assignment occurs during the summer.  Upon completion of the assignment, an evaluation session takes place to determine if there is a continued interest on the part of the student as well as IT.    If so, the student would progress into the second year of the program.

Under direct supervision, perform basic installation, maintenance and repair of various IT related equipment, utilizing accepted practices and procedures.   Perform basic testing and troubleshooting, and maintain required documentation.   Provide assistance to others as directed. Work safely at all times and exhibit a positive, customer-focused attitude.   

Exhibit a basic knowledge in one or more of the following major technical disciplines:   
• Computer Systems   
• EMS/SCADA Systems   
• Networking Systems   
• Radio Systems   
• Transport Systems   
• Voice/Video Systems

Requirements:

* Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an Associate or Bachelor Degree in an IT major
* Computer and Information Science (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) major or a major that aligns with the specific IT assignment
* Completed at least one (1) year in major
* Have taken at least one computing course
* Must be able to work at least one summer assignment, full-time for 12 weeks
* 3.0 GPA preferred
* U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
