Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION

As an expert in the domain of Thermohydraulics within the R&I center based in Aix en Provence, you will support different applied R&D projects conducted for the different business lines of the Renewable BG.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Bring in Thermohydraulics expertise support to other R&D projects in the area of solar CSP technologies, energy storage technologies,... First application will concern the development of a disruptive new solar technology
  • This support will consist in realizing simulation studies to evaluate different design solutions and choose the most appropriate one. It will be done at component's and system's levels. It will also concern the choice of appropriate instrumentation for pilot studies.
  • It will help to target more precisely experimental studies, validate modeling and accelerate product development while at the same time reducing the risks. It will also contribute to demonstrate to our clients our control of the technology.
  • Participate to project review internally and with partners
More globally, these responsibilites will lead you to:
  • Gain and maintain expertise in the domain of Thermohydraulics simulation and instrumentation to support effectively new product development.
  • For that organize and realize scientific watch in this domain; identify key university for potential PhD support
  • Be part of the AREVA experts network to identify and bring in the center existing AREVA's expertise
  • Interact in particular with our experts at AREVA NP (technical center in germany, AREVA NP in San Jose-USA)
  • Represent AREVA Renewables in conferences linked to this domain

COMPETENCIES
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Engineering school PhD level
  • Thermohydraulics simulation for design and operating condition testing and new technologies
  • Two phase flow modeling
  • Utilize CFD codes to develop methodologies to evaluate new designs and components.
  • First experience after PhD or Post doctoral position is acceptable, with high technological content in a top lab university
  • Experience of partnership with external partners (public labs or industry) and sub-contracting management
  • Interaction with International partners
  • Travels will be regular
  • English : fluent
