Job Description
Develop, negotiate, and execute energy transactions that add long-term value to PSEG Power’s generation portfolio and to the ER&T Trading portfolio. This will be accomplished through an understanding of the counter party’s needs and price relationships/quantity values within the wholesale energy markets, developing new and innovative products, effectively assessing/utilizing internal capabilities/data, and leveraging our capabilities regarding physical energy trading, pricing strategies, financial tools, techniques and other related commodities to arbitrage opportunities between multiple commodities/markets. Also responsible for establishing and maintaining professional, working relationships with key market participants such as utilities, power marketers and merchant developers. In conjunction with associates in the Pricing and Structuring, Credit, Accounting and Legal groups, analyze and evaluate complex energy transactions to ensure that all relevant valuations and risk/reward relationships are favorable to PSEG and consistent with Corporate Risk Management guidelines. Conduct an ongoing comprehensive assessment of all relevant aspects of the assigned region or market sector, providing feedback to management regarding near and long term business opportunities; also work closely with the physical and commodity trading functions and Energy Operations to pursue transactions which compliment Power’s generation portfolio and ER&T’s overall trading positions. Also evaluate supply/demand fundamentals, key market participants and transmission dynamics in addition to providing in-depth market information and participating in market assessments for generating asset development/acquisition effort within assigned region. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.

Required:

. Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or directly applicable experience
PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited
by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
. Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a team player
. Results oriented, creative and innovative
. Minimum of three years but preferably five+ years applicable experience in energy marketing and origination, energy project development, physical or commodity trading, or knowledge of electric power system operations, preferably in the PJM region; however experience in NYISO or Nepool will be considered
. Strong PC skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications
. Significant verbal and written communications, analytical/problem solving and interpersonal skills
. Ability to prioritize opportunities and work well within a rapidly evolving business environment
. Approximately 25% intra-week travel within eastern United States
. Knowledge of financial risk management methods and hedging concepts
