Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Are you looking for a new challenge? Come be a part of AREVA Renewable and the start of something great!
You will be responsible for setting the electrical specifications to adapt the European M5000 Multibrid product to new markets (60 Hz adaptation of components, new grid requirements & compliance) in strong agreement with our business development team in charge of the market studies. You will lead the electrical adaptation, supervise construction & tests of components, ensure electrical certification of new components Achieve first level of product targets cost & performance and make proposals for further improvements to ensure the product's competitive advantage. This position will report directly to the Deputy CTO of AREVA Renewable Research and Innovation organization and functionally to the Engineering manager within Multibrid.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interface with business development and market study responsible
  • Understand local requirements & regulations
  • Define the technical specifications of the product along with cost targets & functional
  • Build up planning, cost, resources with risk assessment
  • Identify the dedicated team on the basis of AREVA wind business line engineers subcontractors and supplier's co development if necessary
  • Manage the engineering electrical technical team in charge of the product development
  • Interface as needed with the class X R&D project manager
  • Manage the certification process
  • Manage the construction and tests of the first prototype
  • Interface and prepare the product industrialization

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Engineering school PhD level
  • Project management experience in wind turbine adaptation to new markets especially the US market
  • Experience with electrical component design specification, engineering construction and testing
  • Interaction with international partners
  • Budget responsibility
  • Knowledge of various grid codes & grid requirements and compliance (US, UK, China…)
  • Good overall skills in various technical fields for the development of wind turbines generators, with focus on electrical components :
    • PM generators
    • Pitch & yaw motors
    • Converters
    • Switches
    • Transformers
    • Control actuators & control system
    • General electrical design
    • Grid connection
  • Strong technical project management culture via in depth use of dedicated tools (Microsoft project, …)
  • English : fluent
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • German : fluent (a plus)
