This position reports to the Vice-President and General Manager of Power Products in Montreal. The main objective of this position is to establish marketing strategies for new products, new markets, and new technology and expand current business models via channel/segment/product/technology expansions. This position is responsible for evaluating internal data, customer research, market conditions, competitor data, and implementing business changes as needed. The scope included responsibility for strategic initiatives and all types of strategic marketing including strategic planning, positioning strategy, segment strategy, and targeting strategy for new and existing businesses. Other responsibilities include creating1maintaining market size, share and trend information for new and existing businesses in PPMV ( Power Products, Medium Voltage) PPHV ( Power Products High Voltage) and assisting with inorganic growth initiatives. Summary of responsibilities: Smart Grid Initiative: Define Smart Grid offering for MV products; Evaluation of possible partners required to complete MV Smart Grid offering; Commercialization of the feeder automation products and outdoor apparatus that complete the MV Smart Grid offering. Wind Initiative: Work with strategic team to define the MV offering; Review use pf RMU product in NAM; Commercialization of the RMU ANSI offering. Aid marketing with the list pricing, market analysis, blanket mapping, and marketing strategy. Function as member of marketing staff with strong team orientation. Handle multiple projects and critical deadlines with efficiency and individual accountability. Develop and maintain an understanding of target markets, industry issues, customer purchasing behavior and influences. Develop and implement the marketing strategy for new and existing business models, including market size, trends, share, positioning strategy, targeting strategy and segmentation strategy. Evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data and implements marketing plan changes as needed. Identify and analyze an organization’s strengths and weaknesses, and respond to opportunities and threats in the marketing environment. Set goals for market share and growth. Conduct research to determine the level of demand for products and services offered by organization and to assess the need for new products or services. Work with Sales Managers and PP Management to fill holes in product basket through development, partnering and or acquisition. Work with Product Managers and Marketing Managers on product development, product enhancements and product launches. Conduct market research using a variety of techniques such as surveys, focus groups, interviews, and comparison to competitor’s products. Instrumental in the research and development of new products and services as well as related marketing and sales strategies for theses products.
