Dist Dispatcher V Job In Roanoke Virginia

Responsible for assisting in the safe and reliable operation, dispatching and restoration of facilities for the AEP Distribution System as assigned; arranging and approving distribution switching operations to effectively maintain and restore customer service; and dispatching, directing and monitoring employees to effect reliable service.

Minimum Requirements:   
- B.S. Degree in any field or Associate's Degree in electrical or electronics technology or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Must possess basic computer literacy, knowledge and skills.
- Must possess the ability to analyze information and communicate instructions clearly and precisely.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify line colors.
- Effectively operates radio and telephone systems.
- Requires working rotating shift schedule.
- Must satisfactorily complete, in such time frames as established by the Company, all required training to advance to the next higher classification or vacate the current classification.

Due to callout responsibility applicants must live within or be willing to relocate to within 30 minutes reporting time of the Appalachian Power Company Main Office, 40 Franklin Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24011.
