The Managing Director - Market Risk Oversight reports to the Chief Risk Officer and is responsible for overseeing key functions in the Market Risk Oversight group in the corporate oversight of financial risks related to the company’s various business transactions. 1. Oversee the identification and assessment of financial and other risks in the current and proposed business activities of the company
2. Oversee adherence to the Risk Policies and risk limits that cover the market risks in asset optimization and in Energy Trading and Marketing.
3. Lead the review of the effectiveness of risk controls and transaction operational processes, reporting all concerns and recommendations for changes to the Chief risk Officer
4. Prepare agenda items for and attend meetings of the Commercial Operations Risk Committee and participate in new product and strategy reviews.
5. Oversee the preparation of consolidated risk measurement reports for the Risk Executive Committee, the Chief Risk Officer, Commercial Operations and Senior Management.
6. Manage the staffing, training and other personnel requirements of the group within the Human Resources guidelines.
7. Communicate regularly with Commercial Operation, Treasury and other personnel who transact in markets keeping informed of their strategies and inherent risks.
8. Lead in the management of all internal an external audits and audit relationships
9. Oversee the preparation of all financial disclosures of VaR and related market risk disclosures
10. Monitor and report on operational risks in the Commercial Operations organization.
11. Oversee the review of structured deals and sign-off on the execution of acceptable transactions.
12. Communicate to senior management any material market risks and activities at weekly, monthly and other risk and management meetings.
13. Oversee the development of and validation of quantitative methodologies and models for valuation and risk measurement of all transactions and portfolios.
14. Oversee the enterprise risk processes for identifying emerging risks and reporting risk so the risk executive committee and the board.
15. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Mathematics or equivalent education and /or job experience: Masters degree preferred. 10 years experience in risk management or trading operations.
