The Power and Industrial Systems group, located in St-Laurent, has the responsibility to provide project management, procurement, engineering, installation and commissioning of Power Systems for the Utilities and Industrial clients in Canada and is looking for an Engineering Manager

Management of the Engineering department responsible for System Studies, Structural Engineering, Electrical Design, Station Design and Civil Design for HV substations and Grid Systems. Responsible for the Engineering budget and ensuring optimal and cost effective solutions are developed and adhered to in the execution of projects. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations and associations of Professional Engineers.

Specific Responsibilities:

Administrative and management responsibility for the engineering group including technologists and professional engineers;
Performance evaluation and establishment of employees’ objectives;
Development and continuous improvement of engineering processes and enforcement of their application;
Technical support to proposal group including: system design, engineering estimate and resource planning;
Technical support to all phases of project execution including: development of engineering quality plan, engineer resource planning, review of engineering drawings and studies, participation in design review meetings, procurement support, construction and commissioning support;
Engineering progress monitoring and performance evaluation for projects (KPI – Key Performance Indicators);
Engineering resource planning for backlog and forecast projects;
Participation in hiring process (staffing request, evaluation and selection of candidates, interviews);
Development and retention of technical expertise within the engineering group;
Training and development planning for employees of the engineering;

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience;
A strong Power System experience with emphasis on system design and project execution of high and medium voltage systems;
Proven ability to accurately estimate engineering requirements for power system projects;
Demonstrate management and leadership skills with ability to develop a high performing team;
Possess good interpersonal skills and relationship building skills ;
A creative team player that works extremely well with others;
Ability to manage time and deal with multiple projects simultaneously (multi-tasking);
Critical thinking and analytical skills;
Must be precise, organized, flexible, autonomous and self-motivated;
Knowledge of computer tools required to accomplish his tasks;
Effective communication skills - both written and oral;
Bilingual (French and English).
