Business Unit Overview Exelon Nuclear operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation and the third largest fleet in the world, which represents approximately 20 percent of the U.S. nuclear industry's power capacity. Illinois locations: Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Marseilles, Moline, Morris, and Warrenville Pennsylvania locations: Delta, Kennett Square, Middletown, and Pottstown New Jersey location: Forked River Job Description Exelon Nuclear is in need of a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Work package planner who can function also as a back-up First Line Supervisor managing our craft employees. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Directly responsible for the assignment and coordination and/or execution of activities within the Maintenance Planning Group to ensure a productive workforce that supports all divisional, departmental, site and corporate goals while in accordance with the QA Manual, company policies and local, state and federal regulations. Oversee planning and preparation of work packages for work to be performed by the respective Maintenance departments to ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. Proactively monitor work planning performance, maintain quality and standardization of work packages, and provide daily communication with Work Management. Ensure planners support the work plan by providing first line supervisors with high-quality standardized work packages. Provide analysis and assist in developing recommendations to senior management to allow strategic decisions for improvement of the work planning process. The Lead Maintenance Planner will also function regularly as a backup FLS to support high workload times, vacations and outages. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (means principal, main, major or most important duties / accountabilities that the employee performs) Item Accountability 1 Effectively oversee Planning Group personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently in accordance with plant procedures and local, state and federal regulations. Oversee preparation of work instructions that provide direction to the Maintenance Department for corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance and surveillances, and the implementation of modifications. Conduct field walk-downs to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance, modification and surveillance activities. Interface with Work Management, Supply, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues. Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable station procedures including NSPs, NSWPs, ASME Code, etc. Review and approve all required work packages, including 10.CFR50.59 screening or evaluation (if required). Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development, quality, and Maintenance direction. 2 Administer coaching, mentoring and performance management, including initiation of disciplinary action, for assigned employees. Leads, directs, and provides motivation for station planners. Provides input into for the yearly performance review of station planners. Works directly with and assists the Planning Manager. 3 Effectively communicates significant plant or personnel issues to Planning Supervisor and all applicable levels of station management. Fostering open communications and collaboration between all organization internal and external to the plant including INPO and regulatory agencies. 4 Ensure effective communication of company programs, announcements, policies, etc. to assigned employees and feedback to the company from assigned employees. 5 Assumes a lead role to provide support, analysis, and guidance to the work planners to ensure that defined timeliness and standards are met. 6 Assume and/or perform Maintenance Supervisor Duties as required including Duty Supervisor, ERO responsibilities and vacation/outage coverage. 7 Participates in various aspects of Maintenance Department management to support safe and efficient operation of the plant. Participate in work control, coordination, scheduling, an Engineering meetings involving on-line, load reductions, forced outages and refuel outages, to ensure planning work is properly assigned, planned, and ready to work. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: ¿Individual must possess a 2-year technical degree with 8 years utility or related-industry experience of which 4 years are in the craft he/she supervises and plans for ¿Must have completed a positive Leadership Assessment (FLS) ¿Meet ANSI requirements for site Maintenance Supervisor ¿Excellent communication skills ¿Excellent computer skills ¿Excellent problem solving, decision making and planning skills Preferred: ¿4 year technical degree ¿Previous Corrective Action / Root Cause Analysis Training ¿Successful completion of core supervisory/management training and development programs POSITION SCOPE 1. Interface with local, state and federal agencies and INPO. 2. Budget ¿ $1 to 2 million. 3. Oversight of 5+ FTEs 4. Function as Project Manager for special projects as required. 5.
