Job Description

Position summary:

Strengthen the level of scientific excellence and provide technical leadership within the Canberra France team and global Canberra through strong interactions with the chief architects, product managers, FAR, Systems Technology group, external researchers (CEA,…) and customers.

Essential duties:

  • R&D
    • Project management of VIP and BOOSTER French and European R&D projects and collaboration with CEA at Saclay site
    • Collaborate with Canberra personnel in USA, France, UK, Belgium and Germany on various research and development projects.

  • Support system activities

o Provide physics support for quotes and proposals

o Assist with definition of requirements for new products/systems

o Participation on MCNP design for specific systems

o Visit Customers sites (La Hague, Marcoule …) and meet with key customers face to face to better understand their needs.

  • Technical support to sales and marketing

o Provide technical material and presentations for key trade shows, conferences and user-group meetings.

o Provide application notes

  • Technologies

o Provide technical leadership by pulling new technologies from the internal R&D Groups (FAR, Systems Technology…) and external research partners (CEA…) and push integration into the product portfolio and systems.

o Research new gamma ray and neutron detector materials and technologies (semi-conductor, scintillation…) - coordinate efforts when needed between Canberra France and other groups.

  • Support to specific products
    • Play a role in identifying commonalities between different global Canberra products offering such as:
      • ISOCS (Mercurad/Pascalys)
      • IGA (FRAM, MGA/MGAU)

o Help Develop and/or validate new algorithms and technologies in particular concerning new spectrometry ISO 11 929 standard

o Review product validation and verification plans.

  • Essential requirements:
Minimum education required: PHD
Indispensable knowledge of Canberra products, NDA 2000, modelling MCNP
English language
