As R&D Engineer, you will support R & D in the following areas:
  • Develop spectroscopic tools which retain fidelity over a wide dynamic range
  • Apply automated adaptive methods to optimise the nuclear counting
    conditions
  • Develop means to extract as much information from digital pulse trains as
    possible rather than as is the present approach which is to discard overlapping events and ignore pulse shape differences
  • Evaluate ways to reduce set-up, field service and physics support by
    embedding the expertise beneath an application tier which is intuitive and easy for non experts
  • Develop working relationship with potential partners in e.g. France and
    Australia

Moreover, you will contribute to the activities and offers of Canberra to AREVA Group and to other Non Destructive Assay facilities

PhD in Physics or digital electronics, with strong mathematical skills. A practical/applied or engineering background would help
You must hold a PhD (or be close to the end of his/her PhD)
You are willing to start and build your career as a professional in an industrial environment
You have a previous experience in the cryogenics, vacuum physics, and Finite Element Analysis
