Job Description
The Work Control Manager provides leadership on overall planning and scheduling of all site maintenance and execution of all site outages. This position is accountable to scope, plan, and schedule all on-line maintenance and outage work implemented at a generation station. All resources associated with planning, work package preparation, scheduling (P3/6), and work performance monitoring report to the Work Control Manager. During forced, maintenance, and planned outages, the Work Control Manager is accountable for the safe, environmentally compliant, and effective execution of the work scope within budget and schedule. Responsible for daily supervision, monitoring, and coaching of 4-6 professional associates. Responsible for oversight of 20-100 multi-disciplined workforce comprised of technical & engineering associates, supervisors, represented or non-represented craft associates, contractors, suppliers, OEM, and A-local workforce during outages. This position has responsibility to establish and lead the Outage Control Center and the Work Week Control Center. The Work Control Manager also leads long term asset management and business planning.

This position also leads or participates in initiatives to drive the Operational Excellence Model at the location as well as improvements throughout the fleet. Participate in station and Fossil dept. strategic planning initiatives. Aggressively support the Operational Excellence Model, root cause analysis, lessons learned, reduce heat rate, reduce forced outages, improve outage performance, and improve reliability.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in an Engineering discipline or 8-10 years relevant power plant experience.
• 5 years experience in power generation or outage management.
• Experience managing multi-million dollar projects and outages.
• 3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience.

Required Competencies:

• Demonstrated experience with: Work package development, SAP Plant Maintenance and Work Clearance modules or similar CMMS applications, integrated network schedule creation with competency in Primavera, Artemis, or similar scheduling software.
• Experience using SAP Projects System module or similar cost management system.
• Knowledge in Fossil Operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of complex projects with conflicting priorities while controlling scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including, written and verbal
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity
• Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous outage or work control management experience with a company that has an operational excellence model.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
