Job Description

Initiate absence management process through effective communications and utilization of integrated disability management protocols, while adhering to company, state and federal regulations, in order to promote quality of care, recovery and cost effectiveness.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Perform comprehensive individual case analysis and benefits assessments using accepted practices to develop appropriate interventions.

2. Review disability case management intervention protocol using standards of care in order to promote quality care, recovery, and cost effectiveness.

3. Promote collaboration among stakeholders using communication strategies to optimize functional recovery.

4. Develop individualized return-to-work plans consistent with standard practices and procedures by collaborating with relevant stakeholders in order to facilitate employment.

5. Coordinate benefits, services and community resources (e.g. orthotics, prosthetics, FCE, IME, durable medical, home care and vocational rehabilitation) through strategic planning in order to facilitate optimal functioning.

6. Monitor progress for achievement of targeted milestones through ongoing comparison with established best-practice guidelines to make recommendations, optimize functional recovery, and provide needed follow-up.

7. Manage caseload using ethical strategies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

8. Prepare case notes and reports using applicable forms and systems in order to document case activities in compliance with standard practices and regulations.

9. Recommend strategies that integrate benefit plan designs and related services by evaluating and coordinating delivery in order to promote prevention, optimal productivity, quality care and cost containment.
10. Utilize internal and external services using commonly accepted selection criteria to maximize consistency and desired program outcomes.

11. Fairly and consistently manage benefits.

12. Maintain cost effectiveness through active monitoring, evaluating, coordinating, and benchmarking absence recovery.

13. Continuing education and development to improve our integrated processes

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, industrial management, or equivalent in education and/or experience.   Experience in medical terminology, case management or human resource preferred.
