Position Summary Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan. This position receives guidance and oversight from manager. The Manager - Project Controls and Reporting position is responsible for the development and management of an effective control environment for multiple projects that individually, may be as large as $100 million. The control processes encompass all aspects of project management, including, but not limited to, contract administration, change management, procurement management, project scheduling and cost control, all designed to ensure the efficient use and accurate reporting of corporate resources consumed on projects. Primary Responsibilities 1. Lead, institute and maintain an effective project controls and reporting environment by designing, implementing, administering, and monitoring for compliance a rigorous project administration function which ensure contractors and PPL performance are consistent with project goals. This includes the design of all reports, presentations, standards, policies, procedures, models, documentation methods and other necessary tools. 2. Lead the development and implementation of project control elements including but not limited to; integrated change control, exception reporting, claims documentation, contingency management, project change impact analysis, trend analysis and problem identification, risk identification and analysis and cost and schedule variance analysis. 3. Advise and recommend solutions to the Project and Construction Management Group on project cost, control and risk issues which may have a negative impact on successful project execution or detract from a strong control environment as required in Electric Utilities and PPL Financial Department's policies and procedures. 4. Identify, recommend and implement enhancements/efficiencies to Electric Utilities services through other process improvement techniques. 5. Lead, establish and maintain strong and effective matrix working relationships with internal and external work groups in support of successful project execution strategies. 6. Manage, train, monitor, and direct the work of those employees (both PPL and contract) under direct supervision of this position to ensure sound Project Control and Reporting environments. 7. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting or engineering. 2. More than 5 years experience in performance monitoring, project reporting, project controls and financial analysis. Preferred Qualifications 1. Master's Degree. 2. Working knowledge of cost engineering, scheduling and construction. 3. Consistently demonstrate highly developed skills in the following areas: - Leadership - Results Orientation - Customer Focus - Initiative - Communication and Presentation - Teamwork - Dependability - Analysis/Problem Solving/Judgment - Organization/Planning/Executing - Safety - Sensitivity to confidentiality - Other Skills as Applicable to Scope of Responsibilities 4. Strong verbal and written communications skills. 5. Ability to work well with individuals on all levels of the organization.
