Job Description
Position Summary Under general direction, responsible for a variety of electrical engineering activities associated with capital and maintenance projects for PPL’s fossil-fired and hydroelectric power plants. Depending on assignment, may work independently with minimal guidance using knowledge of engineering concepts. At times, may provide support or direction to other project team members to ensure production of high quality, timely and cost-effective engineering solutions to technical problems. Primary Responsibilities 1. Evaluates, plans, and conducts engineering designs and studies. Works alone or as part of a project team. Leads technicians, analysts or others within the work group or cross-functional team.

2. Works with minimal supervision in a variety of engineering functions either in field locations or in the home office, which may include activities to assess plant component condition or function and to develop design or specification packages to add/modify systems and components.

3. At times, serves as project sponsor and presents the results of the project team efforts. May be required to review or, depending on position level, approve, design work completed by contractors and be a key interface with other groups.

4. Provides project management services, including project coordination, contract administration, material tracking, scheduling and cost monitoring on projects, and review with management. Prepare/review cost estimates, perform bid evaluations, and at times administer or coordinate material, construction or engineering services contracts.

5. Depending on experience, serves as a technical leader in specific areas. Uses engineering principles to provide technically correct and cost-effective recommendations that solve design concerns. Acts as a technical resource for plant-based engineers and other engineering disciplines.

6. Increases and applies knowledge of technical and business skill sets. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration. Basic Qualifications 1. Bachelor's Degree in engineering from a college or university accredited by ABET, or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent. Discipline required will vary by the specific job requirements.

2. Less than two years of related engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications 1. BS Degree in electrical engineering.
