Job Description
Since 1980 Ber-Mac Electrical and Instrumentation has been supplying electrical power and instrumentation equipment and services, both domestically and to international customers. Recently, Ber-Mac was acquired by ABB Inc. and we are excited to continue to expand our products and services under the operating name of ABB Ber-Mac Senior Electrical Engineer

Specific responsibilities

· Support Lead Engineer or take project lead in designing Electrical Engineering technical solutions in
accordance with client specifications
· Provide Electrical Engineering expert consultancy to clients on appropriate solutions and methods for
delivery of requirements
· Estimate project costs, resources and timelines for delivery of projects
· Allocate Design and Drafting work as appropriate to support the successful delivery of the projects
· Address technical queries and respond to project delivery issues, ensuring timely resolution to the
clients satisfaction
· Check and sign off drawing packages in multiple provinces
· Order inventory for the technical solution being delivered either through Ber-Mac or via the partnering
organization
· Undertake site visits to check construction and to validate with specifications and design
· Provide technical product support to internal and external personnel as required
· Determine scope of work
· Ensure documents are controlled in a consistent format and all changes are recorded accurately
· Identify and develop potential incremental business development opportunities arising within the
project/s
· Influence and share best practice in Electrical Engineering disciplines, looking to enhance department
performance and Ber-Mac’s ability to deliver quality client solutions
Mentor engineers in training

Qualifications

Bachelors of science in Electrical Engineering, APEGGA and P.Eng mandatory
MUST have considerable experience in the Alberta Oil and Gas market
10+ years experience
Technical experience in design and specification of medium/low voltage switchgear, medium/low
voltage MCC and power transformers
Technical experience in general electric design
Must have experience in electrical design of oil and gas facilities in BC, AB and Sask
