JOB SUMMARY Develops programs, procedures, and practices to efficiently support all outage or work week management related activities. Provides coordination and direction as required to ensure that all activities associated with daily pre-outage and outage plant schedule are on track. Acts as focal point for work preparation and problem resolution. Helps site management to ensure plant system outage, component outages, forced outages and work week management are executed as safely, efficiently, and expediently as possible. Oversees coordination, preparation, and execution of the workweek schedule. JOB DIMENSIONS Supervisory Responsibility - Assist Outage Supervisor and/or Work Week Supervisor Budget Responsibility - Assist Outage Supervisor and/or Work Week Supervisor with Outage and/or Work Week Budget PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - Sets the standard that prioritizes all duties in the following order: 1. Safety; 2. Environmental; 3. Assets; 4. Megawatts. - Acting with delegated authority of the Fossil Outage and Work Week Manager; provides direction to personnel and activities as required to ensure that all daily or outage efforts are performed as safely, efficiently, and expeditiously as possible; identifies priorities, and directs critical path efforts as required. Performs walk downs of the work. - Requests Hold Orders to be filled out and submitted based on when work is scheduled to be performed and in preparation of scheduled start. Identifies and prepares all permits, requests, etc. for any conditions. Identifies & provides support requirements, scaffold, insulation removal, etc. - Coordinate development of forced outages and planned maintenance schedules. Develops and coordinates planned system and component outages with all appropriate functions and departments; interfaces with respective managers to determine priorities, temporary remedial actions, and resolve conflicts or discrepancies as required. - Assumes the Supervisor's duties when directed, and other tasks as deemed appropriate. - Responsible for such activities as initiating and revising plant instructions, and providing feedback on corporate standards; providing input to site management for improvements in personnel performance, and providing input for process improvements. - Ensures documentation of "as found" and "as left" conditions. Ensures documentation of PMT's. - Directs the activities of annual plant and partner personnel activities to ensure safe, efficient, and expeditious performance of all critical path efforts. - Recommends schedule changes and enhancements to ensure overall goals are met. - Evaluates/reviews site instructions and corporate standards and provides feedback for improvement. Ensures employee feedback and process improvements are integrated into the work package. - Evaluates planning, scheduling, outage performance and programs, and provides improvement methods. - Performs tasks and oversees programs as directed by site management. - Terminates any department activities which are not being carried out in accordance with applicable procedures, specification, regulation, requirements, or acceptable practices. Ensures the termination of any activity which jeopardizes personnel safety, equipment safety, or continued power generation. - Serves as chair of Work Week review & execution meetings. Tracks actions needed to prepare for T-0 execution of the work. Makes decisions on what works. - Conducts Work Week lessons learned reviews and implements actions needed to improve. (T+1) - Evaluates the plant risk for the Work Week. - Compiles weekly statistical report of Performance Indicators. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY FACTORS Education - B.S. degree in engineering, scientific-related discipline or equivalent related education, training & experience. Experience - Four to six years of responsible power experience in areas such as maintenance, operations, engineering, technical support, quality assurance, construction; two years supervisory experience is preferred. Certification/License, etc - None. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and management at all levels. Ability to be innovative and future focused; work well under pressure with changing priorities and effectively manage programs and personnel. Demonstrated negotiating and critical thinking skills. Should have knowledge of principles of contract management, service agreements, project management, and business planning as well as computer software tools & programs utilized in planning process; comprehensive knowledge of environmental and safety standards for protection of personnel and equipment.
