Job Description

ABB currently employs over 700 expatriates in 63 countries. Since the current incumbent has been the position holder for the planned maximum assignment period, we are looking for an experienced Head of Global Mobility (m/f) to join our team.

As a part of the newly-created group Talent organization, which is also accountable for global resourcing, talent management, learning & development and competency management, you will assume responsibility for the global mobility function at group level.


Your tasks: lead the significant change program associated with the realignment of ABB’s Global Mobility operating model • coordinate and communicate Global Mobility activities effectively • oversee and manage key mobility services vendor relationships, ensuring that agreed service levels are maintained or exceeded • provide support to country/regional mobility managers, country/division/BU management and HR on matters relating to Global Mobility • identify best practices existing in ABB and adapt as appropriate for global application • improve ABB’s approach to Global Mobility as a key driver of business success and integrate it within the Talent and broader HR frameworks • lead the ongoing development of the SAP based HR group tools in support of global mobility

The requirements: university-level degree • several years’ professional experience in Global Mobility leadership within a large multinational company • proven change management and project management expertise in a multicultural environment • familiarity with multiple operating models of mobility and associated governance structures • very well developed strategic and operational expertise • fluency in English; additional languages useful • excellent communication skills • sound commercial skills • very well developed intercultural competence • team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skills • understanding of HR information systems and/or e-recruitment systems (ideally SAP)
