AREVA is seeking a Pump & Motor Services Project Manager (Associate PM - Project Manager). Under broad supervision, this position is responsible for securing and managing resources for moderately complex Pump & Motor Services product line commercial projects from proposal development and award through contract closeout. Responsibilities typically include planning, scheduling and control of project activities to achieve project objectives. This position will be part of the Installed Base Business Pump and Motor Services Project Management unit but will work closely with the GSO business development managers and IB-A operations managers. This qualified individual will be responsible for:
  • Provide project leadership for major pump or motor component refurbishments.
  • Prepare project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
  • Utilize approved project management methods and processes to execute low risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Provide primary interface between project team, management and client.
  • Develop assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinate multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
  • Define and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
  • Manage cash flow and ensures attainment of expected cash position.

  • Refurbishment of contaminated and/or safety related pump and motor components.
Travel
Moderate: Travel to support site visits and customer meetings as required. (approximately 10% of time)

Pump and Motor Services (P&MS) consists of two business segments, the Service Center (PMSC) and On-site (Field) Services. This facility was opened in 2004 and provides full service refurbishment, repair and testing for pumps and motors. The PMSC is self contained with machining, balancing and handling equipment to service the largest pumps and motors in the nuclear industry. Field Services provides on site maintenance of pumps motors and seals to Nuclear Sites. Our work primarily involves Reactor Coolant Pumps and Motors manufactured by Westinghouse, Allis-Chalmers or GE. Both P&MS business segments have grown steadily since opening and meet a critical need for the nuclear industry.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Associate Project Manager opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Associate PM: BS Degree in Business, Engineering or similar field, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus 8-10 years of project work experience.
  • Project Manager: BS Degree in Business, Engineering or similar field, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus 10 - 12 years of project work experience.
  • Achieved and continue to maintain AREVA Entry Level PM certification.
  • Pump and/or motor project experience.
  • Knowledge of major PM plan development, implementation and administration including knowledge of sector and project processes, procedures and tools; good knowledge of nuclear safety issues and requirements.
  • Verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff & management.
  • Working knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis.
  • Excellent report development and presentation skills.
