*If you desire to exercise your Veteran's preference for this position, please email your supporting documentation to veteran@tva.gov Job Summary: Provide management for large, complex or critical BOP Systems related projects which involve multiple disciplines and/or multiple sites and cross organizational boundaries to ensure that those projects are initiated and completed on time and within budget; in accordance with appropriate regulations and TVA policies and procedures; in a manner to maintain technical integrity and performance reliability of TVA facilities; and to safeguard the health and safety of the general public, the environment and TVA employees. This position is specifically responsible for: º Interface and management of BOP Systems related programs, projects, tasks, etc., within Corporate Engineering. º Manages planning and execution of assigned projects. º Manages preparation of budget monitoring, and control mechanisms for assigned projects. º Compliance with and enhancements to established programs to meet regulatory and industry requirements. º Implementation of process re-engineering, standardization, work elimination, or streamlining projects. º Maintaining awareness of current technology capabilities to allow effective utilization during development of Systems Engineering processes and programs. º Evaluation and coordination of engineering issues and activities at the sites involving the effective and consistent utilization of technical capabilities within the BOP Systems Engineering arena. Primary Responsibilities: º Manage engineering work for assigned BOP projects and programs to improve plant reliability, ensure high levels of system performance, and maintain regulatory compliance with all NPG Site and Corporate Engineering policies and procedures and applicable legislative and regulatory requirements. º.Manage special projects that have strategic implications for the mission of NPG Engineering and its organizational responsibilities to the nuclear power program at large. º Direct engineering process improvement activities to ensure optimum capability for NPG Engineering. º Interface with industry counterparts to help ensure the timely production of quality engineering deliverables. º Plan and manage the daily implementation of assigned projects by establishing schedules, tracking progress, and taking corrective actions as necessary. º Provide substantive guidance and direction to engineering personnel in the development of system performance requirements, standards, procedures, etc. and provide professional guidance and technical expertise to senior technical personnel on a multi-discipline level. º Conduct or lead special studies on economic feasibility of targeted projects; and on new technologies, methods, and material. º Interpret new or special government regulations, engineering codes, standards, criteria and performance data, to determine if they apply to plant systems and if a change to plant systems and/or processes should be implemented. º Investigate, evaluate, and contribute to technological/scientific advances to inform management on important new advances. º Interface with other areas within and outside of NPG to ensure consistent systems development and minimize redundancy. º Direct or perform detailed assessments of processes, programs, procedures and products for problem resolution or process enhancements. º Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: º B.S. degree in a related field of Engineering or equivalent is required. . A Master's Degree in engineering is desirable. º Fifteen years of experience associated with systems engineering, operation, and/or maintenance of a power generating plant with at least ten years of experience in the nuclear power industry. º Must include three fuel cycles and three refueling outages at a nuclear power plant site. º A Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable. º A Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) or Shift Technical Advisor (STA) certification is desirable º Demonstrated ability to supervise personnel, manage budgets, control projects and schedules. Must be able to obtain and maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted access.
