Job Summary:
The Nuclear Site Operating Experience (OPEX) Program Manager provides governance and oversight of the OPEX program as the program owner for the TVA Nuclear Power Group (NPG) at one of the TVA nuclear sites.  In discharging this responsibility, the Nuclear Site OPEX Program Manager interacts with counterparts to assess generic applicability of industry OPEX, serves as the technical expert, staff advisor, and consultant regarding OPEX, and promotes the use and application of OPEX through continuing interactions with TVA NPG personnel at all levels of the organization.  

Primary Responsibilities:
º Manage the site OPEX program, including governance and oversight, to conform to the expectations of the NRC, INPO, and TVA NPG senior management.
º Reviews OPEX screening packages prepared by the Corporate Nuclear OPEX Program Manager.
º Participates in fleet OPEX screening meetings chaired by the Corporate Nuclear OPEX Program Manager.
º Serve as a technical expert, staff advisor, and internal consultant to the NPG to apply OPEX precedents to unique and complex problems.
º Support engineering, maintenance, modifications, operations, training, outage support, and other organizations by coordinating the timely review of OPEX information from the NRC, INPO, vendors, or other sources, to preclude recurrence of events at TVA nuclear sites.  
º Promote the daily use of OPEX by all site line organizations as an error prevention and problem solving tool in the daily activities of all line organizations.
º Coordinate with INPO Events Analysis personnel to issue site OPEX reports for the INPO Nuclear Network for events of interest that have occurred at the site.
º Ensure technical accuracy of INPO SEE-IN documents regarding events at TVA nuclear sites.  
º Provide training and assistance for personnel to retrieve and use OPEX.
º Support the Corrective Action Program to apply OPEX in the TVA fleet.
º Assist causal analysis efforts to identify missed opportunities to apply OPEX.
º Represent TVA in industry meetings and conferences.  
º Monitor the use of OPEX and provide timely, accurate and thorough reports, including OPEX metrics and performance indicators.
º Provide OPEX program improvements through self-assessments and industry benchmarking.
º Act as the subject matter expert (SME) to support use of OPEX in training.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
º Bachelors degree in a technical field of study such as engineering or an applied science.  
º Minimum of 10 years management or supervisory experience in nuclear power plant engineering, operations, modifications, maintenance, training, quality assurance, outage management, or other department involved with the use and application of OPEX in daily activities at a nuclear power plant.
º Senior Reactor Operator's License, STA qualification, or equivalent training.
º Requires a broad knowledge and understanding of plant operations, engineering and nuclear support functions in order to make timely and accurate decisions regarding applicability and significance of industry OPEX information.
º Shall have experience using and applying OPEX in the nuclear industry.  
º Must obtain and maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted access along with S-3 and S-4 medical qualification when applicable.  
º Must be able and willing to travel to INPO and industry plant locations as required to gather benchmarking information for OPEX program enhancements.
