AREVA is seeking an Engineer II. This qualified individual will:
  • Perform routine and non-routine engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.
  • Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures.
  • Receive assistance and instruction on unusual or more complex features and possible solutions, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with government, organization and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Build knowledge of organization processes and customers.
  • Work on special projects, as directed.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks, as required.
Typical Projects Your Group May Work On:
  • Development and execution of NDE Programs as part of Customer Alliance contracts.
  • Work with design engineers in support of R&D projects for remotely operated inspection equipment
  • Plans and oversee NDE internal support to Pump and Motor Center for Reactor Coolant Pump and Motor contracts.
  • Technical support to Sales and Marketing in the development of Material Reliability Programs in support of proposal development and follow-up contract support
  • Development, execution and certification of NDE personnel training programs.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • BS in Engineering/Engineering Tech. plus 2-3 years of engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Experience in planning/scheduling/directing craft personnel in NSSS outages.
  • Experience in System Engineering and/or Program Manager for Non-Destructive Examination program development and execution.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Experience at nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) facility with plant engineering/operation/maintenance programs
  • Responsibility for monitoring and development of budget improvement actions.
TRAVEL:
Customer visits, technical meetings and oversight of outage contract executions at customer site at least 25-35% of the time.
