The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering and design for the construction of transmission lines in Minnesota, Wisconsin, N. Dakota, S. Dakota, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Transmission line projects range in voltage from 35kV to 500kV. Work in Xcel Energy's Transmission Line Engineering Department provides a broad range of career opportunities and challenging projects. As a transmission line project engineer, you will be responsible for your projects from inception to energization. Project engineering duties include support of project permitting, creating detailed scopes and estimates, performing engineering calculations, developing detailed design drawings, modeling in PLS CADD, preparing material specification & requisitions, providing construction support, and performing overall project coordination and scheduling. Some field work is required. This position also requires occasional on call duties and after hours response. The work location for this position is either Minneapolis, MN or Eau Claire, WI.
