This opportunity is posted in a range from Staff Auditor to Senior Auditor    

Education and relevant experience will determine the appropriate grade and salary level.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

Evaluate risks and controls relevant to business processes under review.

Identify control design gaps and develop tests to address those controls that are significant.

Conduct testing to validate the existence and effectiveness of controls.

Prepare both written and oral audit reports to communicate results to executive management.

Assist business process owners in developing remediation plans for identified deficiencies.

Perform follow up work to assure agreed upon remediation is implemented and effective.

Remain abreast of changes in accounting rules and requirements, paying particular attention to those impacting the utility industry.

Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support AEP’s Corporate Compliance Policy.

Develop an understanding of the impact of the regulated environment on financial and operational processes.

Supervise the work of other staff on assigned engagements.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree (e.g. B.S., B.A., etc.) from an accredited college/university; a minimum of 2 years audit experience from Big Four Public Accounting firm, strong regional accounting firm, corporate internal audit, or business process experience is required.   

Professional certification preferred (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA).
