Candidate will have strong technical, mechanical and computer skills. Candidate would assist engineers and other technicians in performance of various boiler tests on large utility coal fired boilers. Candidates should be in excellent physical condition and have strong math skills for analysis of field-testing data. Boiler testing includes using specialized instruments to measure airflow, coal flows, flue gas species and other parameters. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is preferred as these skills are used in preparation of reports of testing results. Typically, 50% of total time is out of town travel with the remaining time devoted to lab/ analytical tasks, entering and checking test data, equipment maintenance and other duties in our Birmingham, AL office. It is also preferred that the candidate should possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree in a technical field. Experience working in a power plant or similar environment is a plus. Hobbies that show mechanical inclination are also a plus. Full time employees receive (2) weeks per year of vacation, paid holidays, 401K retirement plan and health benefits (dental optional). | |
