AREVA Canada, Ltd. is seeking a Bi-Lingual Project Manager for our Quebec, Canada location. This qualified individual will support the Project Management group. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Providing project leadership for nuclear facilities design, construction, expansion, extension, modification or maintenance projects.
  • Preparing or supporting the preparation of project plans / schedules / materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
  • Utilizing approved project management methods and processes to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Providing primary interface between project team, management and client.
  • Developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinating multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizing team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
  • Defining and forecasting skills needed to ensure satisfactory project objectives.
  • Managing cash flow and ensuring attainment of expected cash position.
  • Reporting project costs and status to management including schedule and cost forecasts.
Typical Projects This Group May Work On Include:
  • Gentilly II Containment Ventillation project.
  • Other services and engineering projects.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Project Manager opportunity.
Associate Project Manager: BS degree in Business, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical) or similar technical discipline, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus a minimum of 8-10 years of project work experience. Incumbents should be working on or have achieved (or have the ability to achieve) and continue to maintain AREVA PM certification.
Project Manager: BS degree in Business, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical) or similar technical discipline, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus a minimum of 10-12 years of project work experience. Incumbents should have achieved (or have the ability to achieve) and continue to maintain AREVA Level I certification.
Sr. Project Manager: BS degree in Business, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical) or similar technical discipline, plus 12-15 years of project work experience. Incumbents should have achieved (or have the ability to achieve) and are expected to maintain AREVA Level II certification.
Other Minimum Requirements:
  • Related project work experience equates to managing projects $10 to $50 Million in value.
  • Selected candidate must have the ability to be physically located at Trois-Rivieres Nuclear site in Quebec, Canada two or three days per week.
  • Must be fluently bi-lingual (both written and spoken) in French/English.
  • Excellent knowledge of project processes, procedures and tools.
  • Good knowledge of nuclear safety issues and requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management including the client's organization.
  • Excellent working knowledge of PC-based applications such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills with emphasis on "root cause" analysis.
  • Excellent report development and presentation skills.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Nuclear industry experience.
  • Engineering experience.
  • Construction experience.
  • Strong character and ability to deal with difficult people and situations.
  • Project scheduling tools other than MS Project (ie. Primavera, P3e, etc.)

TRAVEL:

Moderate: Up to 25% travel required to nuclear sites in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
