AREVA Enrichment Services Operations LLC is seeking a Project Controller.

AREVA is the world's largest supplier of nuclear technology and services. AREVA Enrichment Services ("AES") is a U.S. based subsidiary whose mission is to build and operate a new state-of-the-art gas centrifuge uranium enrichment facility named the Eagle Rock Enrichment Facility ("EREF") in Idaho. AES has applied for a license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC") to construct and operate this facility in Idaho. AES is currently engaged in detail design of the facility and expects to break ground for construction starting in 2011. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic fast-paced and challenging project. The position offers an opportunity to work with a highly qualified team responsible for design, construction and operation of this multibillion dollar project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Produce detailed schedules and integrate with subcontractor's schedules, resource allocation, bottleneck analysis, and critical path.
  • Interact with project teams and conduct site visits to collect data and produce detailed reports on project costs, earned value status reports, and perform special management studies.
  • Review contracts and confirm that submitted payment requests and invoices are in accordance with established contract terms and conditions.
  • Interact with project team concerning scope changes and analyze their budget and schedule impact.
  • Updates, analyzes, and monitors project spending against budget costs and timescales.
  • Generates, using various management systems, costing and life cycle reports and analysis.
  • Maintains the integrity of all records in order to comply with divisional, audit, and legal standards.
  • Provides early warning of risks and opportunities to allow accurate, timely information for decision making, including review and investigation of monthly cost variances, over and under spending, and anticipated final cost predictions.
  • Initiates, implements, and follows up on measures to support the accomplishment of cost targets, and highlights areas needing improvement.
  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining Q level clearance from the U.S. government.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent education or related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in project control on large industrial/construction projects in the U.S.
  • Proven Construction/Project Management experience.
  • Proficiency in Primavera scheduling, earned value methodology, critical path identification and analysis are essential.
  • Business finance skills (process flows, procedures, spreadsheets, modeling, etc.).
  • Detail oriented with strong communication and coordination skills to coordinate with project team, subcontractors, and BUE finance.
  • Proven ability to plan work and execute independently.

  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work in highly collaborative environment.

Location

The starting work location for this position is Bethesda, MD. Candidates residing in other locations can expect to travel to Bethesda in the first 18-24 months. The work location will then transfer to the site of the EREF project in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
