Business Unit Overview Exelon Nuclear operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation and the third largest fleet in the world, which represents approximately 20 percent of the U.S. nuclear industry's power capacity.
Illinois locations: Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Marseilles, Moline, Morris, and Warrenville
Pennsylvania locations: Delta, Kennett Square, Middletown, and Pottstown
New Jersey location: Forked River

We currently have two openings in Design Engineering (Mechanical) at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Delta PA. These positions will support large capital improvements at the Station. Job Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
-Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
-Provide complete task management of engineering issues.
-Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles.
-Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
-Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
-Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Salary grade may be E02 or E03 depending on candidate selected and/or possible changes in scope of job.

Engineer E03:

Minimum:
-B. S. in Engineering or equivalent Technical degree
-Minimum of 6 years experience
-6 or more years solid performance with last two in top half of Engr 2 band
-Individual Contributor competencies, with demonstration of FLS competencies

Preferred:
-Professional Engineer Registration
-Advanced technical degree or related coursework

Engineer E02:

Minimum:
-Minimum 2 years engineering experience
-B.S. in Engineering or equivalent technical degree

Preferred:
-Engineer in training certification

POSITION SCOPE

Defend the plant design and licensing basis. Preparation and approval of design outputs and plant changes in accordance with approved processes and design requirements. Support installation and testing of plant systems and components and facility changes. Ensure the plant¿s physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in the plant documents. Perform engineering analysis to support plant changes. Relocation Relocation is based on business need and may not be granted for this opening.
