Business Unit Overview Business Services provides Exelon and its subsidiaries with financial, human resource, legal, information technology, supply management and corporate governance services. Job Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Perform a variety of accounting assignments related to the support of corporate accounting operations by overseeing various accounting functions within the Business Unit, Operating Company or Subsidiary (¿assigned entity¿). Produce accurate and timely financial statements for assigned entity and its various legal entities as needed, including, if appropriate, FERC based financial statements. Assist financial analysts within assigned entity in recording and reporting financial transactions accurately and timely, and if required, participate in the Planning and Analysis function for the business unit or functional area of responsibility. Maintain and identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and support regulatory compliance and business planning by performing analyses applicable to areas of responsibility. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Work closely and liaise throughout the assigned entity, the Corporate Controller¿s Group, operating unit finance personnel, and the broader finance community within Exelon regarding accounting activities and issues. Collaborate on special projects and special requests as required for the Controller¿s Group. Interact with internal and external auditors, Corporate Controller¿s Department and business units as required to accomplish goals. Prepare, review and analyze account reconciliations for companies and/or designated functions within assigned entity. Support and participate in the monthly financial statement close process for assigned entity, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely as well as analyzing and reviewing financial statements and variances. Prepare the monthly reporting packages for corporate entities including analysis of current actual results to prior period actual results for assigned business units for use in Board and Senior Management reporting and external reporting. Provide support in the accounting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting of various centrally maintained accounts and/or investments as applicable to operations of assigned entity. Ensure the implementation of changes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS 4-year degree in accounting, finance or general business administration. Experience is typically upper mid-level 5 to 8 years in accounting, financial reporting or related field. Experience preferred in Public Accounting, or related industry experience. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Internal accounting controls acumen along with general knowledge of accounting systems and technology. Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity. Solid financial, mathematical and analytical capabilities and ability to perform complex computations. Strong project management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and team working capabilities enabling one to interface at all levels.
