Business Unit Overview Exelon Nuclear operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation and the third largest fleet in the world, which represents approximately 20 percent of the U.S. nuclear industry's power capacity. Illinois locations: Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Marseilles, Moline, Morris, and Warrenville Pennsylvania locations: Delta, Kennett Square, Middletown, and Pottstown New Jersey location: Forked River Job Description Exelon is currently looking for a Radiation Support Technician at our Oyster Creek Generating Station located in Forked River, NJ. This position is an entry position that requires progression through all training levels to become a fully qualified Radiological Controls Technician. Duties: Performs radiological support activities, including the following: 1. Issues, receives and reads personnel monitoring devices and area monitors, records data and maintains records. 2. Operators whole body counting system, respirator fit test systems, samples breathing air and compressor systems. Also obtains samples of solids, liquids, and gases related to respiratory device maintenance. 3. Assures accuracy and operability of personnel monitoring equipment and other support instrumentation. 4. Maintains records and prepares reports of occupational radiation exposure and other related radiological health/support records. 5. Performs duties in the areas of decontamination and related pre-release smears; radioactive and hazardous waste packaging and processing; laundry stocking, pulling and processing and plant housekeeping. 6. Participates in radiological emergency responses, inventories and drills as required. 7. May be required to travel to other facilities for training. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: - Must be at least high school graduate level or equivalent, including passing grades equivalent to C or better in Algebra and science (Chemistry and/or Physics) (HS transcripts will be required). - Must have a minimum of two years experience at a nuclear power plant. - Must be able to pass entrance exam - Requires shift work - Must obtain unescorted access to the Nuclear Facility Equal Employment Statement Exelon is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. | |
