Job Description:

The Fuel Handler (FH) assists in the safe and efficient operation of the fuel receiving and handling systems and the supporting equipment and systems.  The FH carries out all routine maintenance, inspects, and monitors operating components and reports plant status.  The FH is responsible to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of fuel to the plant during all periods of plant operation.  In addition, the FH will be expected to assist in power plant operation and maintenance as well.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school is required. 
• Two years experience in a Power Plant or a technical degree is desirable. 
• Experience in equipment maintenance, welding, operations highly desired. 
• Experience in medium equipment operations is required. 
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of industrial safety, hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable. 
• Experience with piping, instrument schematics,  and process controls desirable.  Extensive working knowledge of power plant industry desirable. 
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Must have excellent organizational skills.  Must have a positive can do attitude.
