AREVA Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of AREVA, is seeking a Construction Manager.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under broad supervision, this position is responsible for securing and managing resources for moderately complex single product line commercial projects from proposal development and award through contract closeout. Responsibilities typically include planning, scheduling and control of project activities to achieve project objectives.
Provides project leadership for major commercial nuclear facilities design, construction, expansion, extension, renovation or component replacement projects.
  1. Prepares project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
  2. Utilizes approved project management methods and processes to execute low risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
  3. Provides primary interface between project team, management and client.
  4. Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  5. Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
  6. Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
Manages cash flow and ensures attainment of expected cash position.
DESCRIPTION OF DEPARTMENT/SECTION
The AFS Project Management (PM) organization is responsible for the project management and execution of engineering projects. This includes design, analysis, fabrication, testing, and deployment of systems and technologies to recover, process, handle and store radioactive waste at the Hanford Site and other DOE facilities. Additionally, the organization is responsible for providing technical support to the Hanford Site primary contractors.
TYPICAL PROJECTS YOUR GROUP MAY WORK ON
Construction/Project Management (PM) activities within the Richland Operations organization is responsible for the project management and execution of engineering projects. This includes projects associated with the Hanford Site and other DOE facilities. Additionally, the organization is responsible for providing technical support to the Hanford Site primary contractors.

The Engineering & Projects Organization :
Engineering & Projects Organization performs a wide range of engineering and project activities needed to build, upgrade, support operations or dismantle nuclear reactors, uranium production facilities, uranium enrichment plants, spent fuel recycling and waste management facilities.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • BS Degree in Business, Engineering or similar field, or H.S. Diploma or equivalent and related experience in lieu of degree, plus 10-12 years of project work experience. Incumbents should have achieved and continue to maintain PM certification.
  • Must have Engineering, Construction, Commissioning Operations, and Decommissioning Management experience with Nuclear Safety Class experience/NQA-1.
