Business Unit Overview Exelon's Power Team, the company's wholesale power marketing and commodity trading organization, actively trades power and fuel in order to optimize the profitability of a growing portfolio of assets and load obligations as well as the implementation of risk management objectives. Our portfolio includes the largest fleet of nuclear generation in the U.S., plus extensive coal, oil, natural gas, hydroelectric and wind generation assets. The power marketing & trading organization (Power Team) is responsible for optimize the value of Exelon Generation's portfolio. Location: Kennett Square, PA Job Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION This position will direct the commercial operations function for Exelon Energy, including marketing and pricing. The incumbent will design, implement and facilitate an annual marketing plan, and will develop marketing strategy that supports growth initiatives into new markets and products. The Director, Commercial Operations will also oversee all commercial pricing and provide analytic support to the national sales team. He/she will lead a team of approximately 12 professional employees in the fast paced competitive retail business for Exelon. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1 Drive marketing plan that includes market segmentation studies, customer prospecting profiles, and ABC (Agent/Broker/Consultant) strategies for the East and MW markets. 2 Assess and recommend strategic direction and growth plans for new regions, markets, and products. 3 Develop internal and external communication capability including promotional materials and market driven services for sales team and customers. 4 Create and execute public relations plan 5 Direct the Retail Pricing desk to ensure accurate pricing and system capability for all products and services offered. Support Key Account team with commercial pricing resources as needed 6 Key leader of Retail Management Team expected to participate in all aspects of the business, from strategic development, financial planning, risk assessment, cost management, systems planning, personnel development, and culture, POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field Minimum 8 years marketing experience, 2 years at Director level or 5 years at Manager level. Entrpreneurial, self starter with hands on approach Demonstrated strategic planning and customer engagement skills with experience developing and executing marketing plans where none existed before . Preferred: MBA or CFA Energy Business experience Retail Marketing experience POSITION SCOPE Total Staff Managed: Dependent on exact position (15-25 FTE's) Budget Managed: Dependent on exact position ($10MM - $50MM) Impact of this position on company performance is high. This position can adversely or positively impact earnings per share by a combination of the performance of the products and the cost of their delivery.
