Job Description
As a Reliability Standards Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining processes and procedures owned by the compliance program as well as the coordination of internal and external compliance assessments. This will require developing and maintaining relationships with other functional units such as Transmission, Energy Supply, Commercial Operations, and Business Systems. In this role, you will administer and oversee activities in CMS (Compliance Management System) that are integral to the company's compliance with NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) Reliability Standards. You will be responsible for ensuring communications between the company and regulatory authorities, such as NERC and the regions, are maintained in the ProjectWise data management system. You will also have responsibilities related to the coordination of internal functional unit personnel when new reliability standards are open for comment and balloting. This position may require travel to attend meetings with NERC, regional entities, peer companies and various forums and industry events. This position may be located in either Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN depending on the successful candidate's residence. This position will require training in Denver, CO for a few weeks upon starting this position. Relocation assistance will not be offered for this position.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Monitor systems designed to track compliance, standards development, and internal spot check and reviews. Take action to ensure systems are working as intended and recommend system and process improvements as needed. In coordination with management, work with functional units as needed to address compliance deficiencies. Work with IT as needed to remedy identified system problems. Maintain systems as needed to ensure appropriate process flows are maintained. Coordinate and oversee development and/or enhancement of tracking systems.
  • Coordinate internal spot checks and reviews. Monitor and oversee documentation of results and ensure appropriate corrective measures are implemented in a timely manner.
  • In coordination with program management, responsible for submittal of reports and data developed by other personnel to NERC and regional entities. Review documentation prepared by functional units and coordinate with personnel as needed to ensure documentation is clear, consistent, and accurate. Ensure documentation is submitted timely and accurately and a manner consistent with requirements of NERC and regional entities.
  • Maintain program compliance documentation. Work with functional units to update, enhance, clarify, and improve documentation as needed. Work with functional units as needed to collect and prepare of documentation for audits and investigations. Facilitate assimilation and preparation of documentation for external audits and investigations.
  • Prepare program newsletter for periodic distribution (monthly or quarterly). In coordination with other personnel, prepare content and work with communications department in developing final product. Distribute to company stakeholders as needed.
  • Attend regional and NERC meetings as needed. Represent company interests and ensure timely and comprehensive communication of relevant information to internal stakeholders.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Accounting, Finance, Economics Business, Engineering, or Computer Science (6 years of related work experience may substitute for the degree)

Experience

  • 6 years compliance experience
  • Ability to manage voluminous data
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Experience

  • NERC and FERC exposure/knowledge
